Gabriel Garcia Medina, I am in love

"Porque cuando te veo bailando
es como ver a un religioso resando [sic]
es ver a un niño jugando
o a un soñador soñando
es ver al sol en el cielo
o ver la espuma en el mar
es ver paz en la tierra
o ver a un cometa estrellar"

Esta es una seleccion del poema Baillar contigo by Gabriela Garcia Medina.

I really am captivated by this excerpt from her poem. Its the rythmn! Its the rhymn! Its the passion. Its the truth about the universe that she captures a piece of.

She says that when she sees her beloved one dancing, its natural. Its the way things should be. Its doing what it does best. Its doing what one loves best.

"Because when I see you dancing
its like seeing a monk pray
its seeing a child playing
or a dreamer dreaming
its seeing the sun in the sky
or the surf in the sea
its seeing peace on earth
or seeing a comet as a star"

It kinda looses its momentum in English, no?

She builds up to seeing peace on earth. The funny thing is, I said to myself, is that you really dont see this one alot. That is the point. This section is talking about the way things should be, not neccesarily the way they are.

Maybe thats the reason it strikes me.

she is actually coming to my university next week!
check out her website! isnt she beautiful.http://gabrielagarciamedina.com/

songs with hidden Christian meanings

I think sometimes people are incredibly Catholic without even realizing it.
Like Likin Park's hit song "What I've done".

"So let mercy come and wash away what i've done. I'll face myself to cross out what i've become. Erase myself and let go of what i've done."

that could be right out of a Christian song. I especially like the "cross out" bit. Jesus is the one who "crosses" out our sins. its really awesome. +
